The Wild - Street Names

Let us now open our eyes...
The songs that we sing kill fear that's inside.
We'll take back what they've stolen when we realize...
The Truth
Well the streets in the worst part of town,
Hold names of the heroes that in the hardest times found,
Love and compassion, but the people still drown...
From the lies.
But please don't be scared, I'm right by your side.
We can't walk alone, raise our fists to the sky,
Cause no person deserves to be hated or hurt,
So we fight...
We struggle against this routine.
It's a choice that we have to die on our feet,
Or waste away slowly in the glow of a screen,
Take my hand.
But please don't be scared, I'm right by your side.
We can't walk alone, raise our fists to the sky,
Cause no person deserves to be hated or hurt,
So we fight...
We're all heroes and cowards, weapons and flowers,
We give and we take to our last dying day.
We're just noise and we're songs, there's no right way or wrong, just pick up our feet and keep moving along.
We are sunlight and shadow, we're young and than we grow, but never give up all those dreams only we know.
We're agents and allies, we're smiling and we're sad eyes. We're the best and the worst, we're the cure and the curse.
We are...

Today we learn the end that justifies the means.
Waiting for revolution from another's hand...
ends right now!
In silent streets policemen punish the unfed.
Established by a system built on the backs of the working dead, where blue lights try to drown what flourishes, when we resist their fear.
They try to beat us down, but still we rise.
We are the ones we're waiting for,
This is the here and now!
When they build a wall to keep us in place,
We can tear it down... and now's the time!
The city's ribs, the tenements..
hold hope and the strength to grow. It spreads in crowded basements and fills our our hollow bones. Resistance swells up through the floorboards when, we realize whats inside. It's louder than bombs and thicker than blood... Like flames in the darkest night.
We are the ones we're waiting for,
This the here and now!
When they build a wall to keep us in place,
We can tear it down!

Its so easy to focus on the things you lack.
Like when a friend that leaves gets you feeling bad.
All the conversations and the questions you never asked, or had.
There's only one way out and sometimes that leaves me feeling trapped.
Old photos displayed on a silver screen.
You were young but eventually your youth retreats.
Into boxes in the closet now a thousand slides of memories.
And sometimes with the past you keep the things that you want most to leave.
Like a rough year we're still working out,
and all the sad things we don't talk about,
or just don't know how.
I'm so angry with ideas.
All these things I feel but can't touch.
I'm so scared of growing up and dying young.
I go back and forth between each one.
Like a rough year we're recovering from,
and all the sad things I keep dragging on,
or just can't let go of.

Run away, in parking lots we'll unite,
there's time to waste, we've got the rest of our lives.
I'm told that I'm suppose to live somebody else's dream that isn't mine.
We'll make our place, down interstates in the night,
and the better days are right in front of our eyes.
You left us with the thought of death,
than taught me everything would be fine.
We're gonna' be fine.
Raise our voices, we will become our own change.
For better or for worse, this is the family we'll create.
We'll build our homes together and no one will ever take them away.
We'll make our name, in parking lots we'll survive,
and the better days are born right in front of our eyes.
Sometimes it takes going through hell to make you feel alive.
We're gonna' be fine.
